Funny's Funny Female Comedian of the Year 2011 @Laughing Lasses, the North Eastern showcase of this new national competition, was a great success - thanks to the high standard of acts and the fabulous audience. None of the acts went through to the final, unfortunately, but Jo Law got a special mention as a highly-commended list of people who just missed out on the Funny's Funny final. Well done to Jo! Friday 11 Feb New Act & New Material Night show was totally sold out! With the venue closing the doors on us due to pesky health and safety. HUGE apologies to those people who were turned away at the door. It was out of our hands and we are very sorry.
We will be looking at the best way to ensure audience members get in in the future. Thanks.

Our next show, New Material & New Act night is on Friday 11th February 2011, a Valentine's Special.
After this we will be returning to our popular Headliner nights, with Edinburgh stalwart Susan Murray closing the show on Friday April 8th.

Helen Keeler, who was one of our support acts in July, has been shortlisted for the Funny Women Awards 2010. Well done you!
Many of our acts have just finished their runs at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Maureen Younger MC'd the Laughing Cows gigs.
Keara Murphy staged her own woman comedy show Keara Murphy's Travelling Circus - The Greatest Show on Earth.
Kate Fox News got a four star review in the Sunday Telegraph.
Jojo Sutherland, our September headliner, completed her run of Jojo Goes for the Jocular at the famous Stand Comedy Club.
